Registration begins at 8am. The Walk leaves at 9am sharp
Begins and ends at Citi Plaza

355 Wellington Street, North Entrance by the Fountain.

Our Goal: $83,000!

It’s hard to believe that it’s time once again to start thinking about the Walk! Last year you raised an amazing $74,994! This brings the cumulative total over the past 13 years to $767,065! Deepest thanks to all of you for this incredible gift!

All the money raised from the Walk helps provide the over 20 different no-cost cancer support programs and services to individuals and families in our community.

This year we’ve set out goal at $83,000. If we can raise this, we will bring our cumulative total to $850,000! We hope that we can count on you to once again rally friends, family and co-workers and get a team together. Registration is now open!

On September 8th, we invite you to come out and Walk For The One You Love!

It takes a village

Although we wish we could, we can’t change the world alone. But together we can truly make a difference. In his book, Taking Charge of Cancer, Dr. David Palma, radiation oncologist and researcher at the London Regional Cancer Program says…

“Traditionally, as doctors we have overlooked the importance of emotional well-being and social supports for cancer patients. We’ve focused instead on treating the cancer and managing the side effects of our treatment. But that is changing. As outcomes from cancer treatment get better, more and more doctors and researchers are focusing on the emotional, psychological and social aspects of cancer treatment. Studies clearly show that supporting patients emotionally, to avoid depression, and providing appropriate social supports can have a big impact on patient outcomes. We are thankful to have Wellspring as part of our team, providing valuable services to our cancer patients.”

We are all part of the cancer care continuum. We all play an important role in helping to ensure that the programs and services that cancer patients, and their families, need are readily available at no-cost.

This year our theme for the Walk is… It Takes a Village
Call it a Clan,
Call it a Network,
Call it a Tribe,
Call it a Family,
Call it Wellspring!

Each time you or someone on your team registers for the Walk, we will add your name to a paper chain of “villagers” displayed in our hallway. On September 8th, during the Walk, we are all going to link arms and form a human chain. A videographer will capture this moment and we’ll post it up as a positive reminder that together WE CAN EFFECT CHANGE!
