Sandi and Paul Caplan

Paul grew up in Montreal and the basic tenant he learned was ‘Leave the world a better place’. He applies that to the environment, to our community, to his relationships with other people. “We have an obligation to help the next generation find the world in a better condition”, says Paul.

Sandi set up a self-help group in the 1970’s after her father had a heart attack. She has also set up grief support groups. Sandi lost her mother in 2000 and her sister Barbara in 2003. Novack’s sponsors the annual Walk for Wellspring in Barbara’s honour. To date the Novack’s Walk for Wellspring has raised over $200,000 towards Supportive Care Programs at Wellspring.

“It’s all about building a community of support for people as they go through difficult times. At some point in our lives we all face challenges. When we’re faced with a crisis, when we’re most vulnerable, we can feel very alone. The most important thing we can hope for is to have supportive people close by who can help us find our own inner strength”.
